ABOUT MONTAGE

Founded in 2007, Montage Arts Journal is the undergraduate literary journal edited and designed by students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Our goal is to publish the finest, freshest, most innovative work by talented UIUC students from all disciplines and backgrounds. Read our past issues here.

  • Tessza Vitalis-Grant

    EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

    Tessza Vitalis-Grant (she/her) is a junior studying English with a minor in Cinema Studies. She loves peppermint tea, her dog Sam, and baking.

  • Gianna Conidi

    ASSISTANT EDITOR

    Gianna Conidi (she/her) is a senior majoring in English and minoring in Creative Writing. She enjoys poetry, film, and pop culture!

  • Safia Khan

    Safia Khan (she/her) is a sophomore in English. She loves the fall, rainy days, and reading!

    CREATIVE DIRECTOR

    Sarah Zhao (she/her) is a junior studying history. She enjoys film photography, trying new recipes, and rainy fall days!

  • Maiah Cabral

    Maiah Cabral (she/her) is a senior majoring in English and political science in the pursuit of pre-law. She is from Chicago and loves fall weather, unfinished crochet projects, and boba.

    Lily Dokhanchi (she/her) is a junior majoring in English and Creative Writing with a minor in Business. She loves reading, trying new foods, spending time with her friends, and her dog Bree.

  • Aaron Mukhopadhyay

    SOCIAL CHAIR

    Aaron Mukhopadhyay (he/him) is a junior studying English. He enjoys drinking piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. He loves Hegelian dialectics and historicizing literature. He can be found in overpriced coffee shops, listening to that one song on repeat, till he can drain every molecule of serotonin from it. He aims to be sat back with the window down at eighty an hour and the radio loud.

    Shanna Anderson (she/her) is a Junior and a Creative Writing major with a minor in Child Health & Well-Being. She is from Alaska and has been dancing for around 15 years. Her favorite show is Adventure Time and favorite poet is Anne Sexton!

    Molly Cooper Willis is a Freshman double majoring in English and Creative Writing. She has lived in 6 different states and 7 different cities.

    Tirza Garcia Olivares (she/her) is a Sophomore studying Psychology and Creative Writing. She loves spending her free time writing poems, reading fantasy, or cooking anything with potatoes.

    Zoey Godnik (she/her) is a freshman majoring in English. She loves reading fantasy books and telling people random history facts.

    Isabel Pellum (she/her) is a junior majoring in English and minoring in linguistics. A book that she recommends that really inspired her is A Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. She loves it because it combines sci-fi with healthy, queer relationships.

    Sara is a junior majoring in astronomy and minoring in creative writing. She likes to read poetry and graphic novels. She's also a big fan of fantasy, lord of the rings, DnD, etc. etc. etc.

    Olivia Streitmatter (they/them) is a senior studying English literature. They enjoy knitting ineptly, Zadie Smith novels, and long walks on the beach.

    Kiya Williams (she/her) is a freshman majoring in Creative Writing with a focus in Fiction. She plans to be a cat lady after graduation :)

    Violet Wright (she/her) is a junior majoring in English and possibly (?) minoring in creative writing. She loves hoarding candles, reading The Great Gatsby (for the hundredth time), creating embroidery pieces, and dreaming of a life on the coast of Maine inspired by Stephen King (minus the monsters).
